What Is Nyotaimori?

I am pretty sure you know what that is, you maybe just do not know that we call it Nyotaimori.

Nyotaimori is a Japanese practice of serving sushi or sashimi (foods) from a naked body of male or female. Maybe you know it under the name “body sushi”?

The human plate must, first of all, take a bath with fragrance-free soap. Then they have to finish with some cold shower because they have to cool down the body. Why? Because the warm body and raw fish do not go well together. We can have a problem with salmonella, and that is why the body has to be cooled.

Then there we have sanitation laws, which said that food can not touch the body. So food is not served directly on a body, but usually, you get between the body and food a plastic bag or banana leaf.

If you want to become a “human plate” start your training with how to lie down for hours. Without falling asleep of course.

In the West, Nyotaimori is promoted as Japanese traditional culture, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the traditional. This style of serving food was very popular in Japanese organized crime.

These days Nyotaimori is more of a thing outside Japan than in it.

So would you go to a restaurant where they serve human sushi? Is your partner good with that? Will you choose a male or female plate?

I have tried that thing a few times before. Except there was no seafood or something like that. It was only chocolate, cream, strawberries. I have to say I enjoyed. I enjoyed even more after the strawberries.
